On September 30, 1979, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman formed the Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Ulama Dal with people with Islamic thoughts. Maulana SM Ruhul Amin was made the president and Moazzem Hossain the general secretary in the first conference of the organization in the nineties.
