
Statement of Condolence from BNP’s Acting Chairman, Mr. Tarique Rahman
BNP’s Acting Chairman, Mr. Tarique Rahman, has expressed deep sorrow and sympathy over the tragic and heartbreaking earthquake that recently struck Myanmar and Thailand, causing numerous fatalities, injuries, and the collapse of many high-rise buildings.
In a condolence statement today, BNP’s Acting Chairman said, “I am deeply saddened by the massive devastation and loss of lives caused by the catastrophic earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. I stand in solidarity with the affected people of these two countries during this terrible natural disaster. The people of Bangladesh will also stand by them in their time of distress. I sincerely pray to Almighty Allah to grant strength and patience to those affected by this disaster. I firmly believe that the people of Myanmar and Thailand will overcome this calamity and rebuild their lives with renewed strength. The people of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) extend their deepest sympathy to those affected by this earthquake.”
In his statement, BNP’s Acting Chairman prayed for the eternal peace of those who lost their lives in the earthquake in Thailand and Myanmar and expressed his heartfelt condolences to their bereaved families. He also wished for the swift recovery of the injured and made an urgent appeal to the global community to step forward in assisting the affected people with rescue and relief efforts.
