
Message of Condolence from BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman
BNP National Executive Committee member and former Member of Parliament, veteran politician Alhaj Nazim Uddin Ahmed, passed away last night at 11 PM at United Hospital in the capital. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un. At the time of his passing, he was 85 years old. BNP’s Acting Chairman, Mr. Tarique Rahman, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Alhaj Nazim Uddin Ahmed.
In a condolence message today, BNP’s Acting Chairman said,
"The late Nazim Uddin Ahmed was highly respected by the people of the country as a politician. He had deep faith in the ideals and principles of former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam and was a firm believer in the philosophy of Bangladeshi nationalism. He tirelessly worked as an uncompromising warrior in the struggle to restore democracy. His commitment to public service was evident in his political career, and as a Member of Parliament, he made significant contributions to the development and progress of his constituency. He was not only a wise and people-oriented politician but also a humble and kind-hearted individual, earning him widespread acceptance across all sections of society. His unwavering dedication to Bangladeshi nationalism and multi-party democratic values, along with his relentless fight for the freedom of speech and expression, will always be remembered. The passing of such an idealistic politician at this time deeply saddens me."
