Condolence Message from BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir

BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council Member and former Member of Parliament, Begum Rozy Kabir, passed away early this morning while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un. She was 73 years old at the time of her death. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Begum Rozy Kabir.

In a condolence message today, the BNP Secretary General said, “I am deeply saddened by the death of Begum Rozy Kabir. She was a leader dedicated to the welfare of the common people. Her strong presence in politics will always inspire party members. Her commitment and diligence in fulfilling her responsibilities for the benefit of the country and the party were undoubtedly commendable. She was fearless and resolute in her beliefs. The success of her active life was rooted in her idealistic zeal and initiative. She was a highly respected figure among the people and all levels of party leaders and activists because of her people-centric and worker-friendly approach to politics. She always prioritized social welfare work. Her death has created a profound void in Bangladeshi politics. We have lost a true patriotic political leader.

The nation and the party will forever remember with reverence her contributions in upholding the nationalist philosophy of the Proclaimer of Independence, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, and her courageous struggle under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia to transition from dictatorship to democracy. 

I pray for the forgiveness of her departed soul and extend my deepest condolences to her well-wishers and family members.”

Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the death of Begum Rozy Kabir, BNP National Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said, “The late Begum Rozy Kabir was a steadfast and dedicated leader of the BNP. Embracing the principles and ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam and the philosophy of Bangladeshi nationalism, she actively participated in every movement and struggle of the BNP under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia for democratic rights. I pray to the Almighty to grant her Jannah and give the bereaved family the strength to bear this immense loss.
