Press release

Statement of BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has issued a statement expressing deep concern, grief and sorrow over the tragic death of 4 passengers in a train named Mohanganj Express at Tejgaon in the capital at 4 am today, December 19, and wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured.

In a statement today, the senior joint secretary general of BNP said, "Those who set fire to the train in Tejgaon in the capital today and extinguished the life lamps of four passengers are undoubtedly a disgrace to the name of human beings.

It is not possible to do this kind of anti-humanity without the connivance of special authorities. Essentially, there is deep skepticism among the people as to whether this is a ploy to divert public attention away from the ongoing democratic movement. This is a case of well-planned sabotage. Saboteurs are the enemies of human civilization, they want to destroy the human race.

This kind of heinous and diabolical work is possible only with the help of illegal and anti-people forces. I am deeply concerned, shocked and strongly condemned by this uncivilized and heartbreaking incident. We demand an impartial judicial inquiry into the incident.

On behalf of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP, I strongly call for the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the miscreants involved in the Mohanganj Express train fire incident. May the departed souls rest in peace and the injured get well soon.”
