BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi strongly condemned and protested

Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi strongly condemned and protested the arrest of BNP National Executive Committee Organizing Secretary (Barisal Division) Advocate Bilkis Jahan Shirin by male police during the program announced by BNP.

In a statement today, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General said, "During the current illegitimate government, the dignity of women is being crushed under the boots of the police as good governance has been lost from the country. Advocate Bilkis Jahan Shireen as a strong leader has been in every program of BNP for the last one and a half decades. Through active participation, she has been playing a role in fighting against the unrestrained oppression of the Awami government. The arrest of a leader like her by the male police is a clear violation of international law. The inhumane incident of the arrest of Advocate Bilkis Jahan Shirin by the male police has created adverse reactions at home and abroad. Such behavior by the police is against civility and decency. The power-hungry Awami League government has brought down the sword of torture and oppression in various ways on the leaders and activists of BNP and other opposition parties in order to hold the next parliamentary elections unilaterally to retain their illegal power. In this case, no one including the top leaders of BNP is spared. It is not being given. The way the corrupt law and order forces of the government have arrested and killed and injured the activists in the peaceful ongoing programs of the BNP since October 28 is unprecedented. However, the end of the current ruling group will not be saved by carrying out oppression in this way. The people will not allow any election to be held in the future without a non-partisan neutral government system during the election period including the resignation of the government.
