Condolence message of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir

In a separate condolence message, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "The death of Allama Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayeedi while in prison is deeply saddened. This internationally renowned Islamic scholar inspired the people of Bangladesh and other countries of the world on the enlightened path of Islam. The ruling power could not influence him in any way. He was steadfast in his own ideology. Compassionate towards pious people, this man devoted himself to the practice and propagation of pure Islamic knowledge among the masses. He worked tirelessly for the country and people. He was a patient and eloquent speaker in the National Assembly. Late Delwar Hossain Sayedi was a soft-spoken and courteous personality. The seriously ill late Delwar Hossain Sayedi was in prison for the last 13 years but he was not given any proper treatment. His death will be an unprecedented example of merciless tyranny.

I pray for the peace of his soul and offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved family, well-wishers, fans and well-wishers."
