Strong condemnation and protest of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir strongly condemned and protested the cowardly incident of injuring 15 leaders and activists, including President of Gono Odhikar Parishad Nurul Haque Nur, in the attack of Chhatra League on Dhaka University campus yesterday.

In a statement today, BNP Secretary General said, "Fascist Awami government is carrying out violent terror to suppress the united people of the country who are agitating for the re-establishment of a non-partisan neutral government during the election, including the resignation of the Prime Minister. Just when there is a huge gathering of pro-democracy people, including the BNP, this illegal government has lost its sense of purpose and gone into a demonic frenzy. Leaders of opposition parties including BNP and ordinary people are being arrested by the law and order forces in cases of disappearances, murders, cases, assaults and disappearances. In this case, the terrorist organization Chhatra League is being provoked to carry out bloody attacks on educational institutions of the country including Dhaka University. The claws of fascism have also spread to the educational arena. Yesterday, in the attack of Chatra League on the campus of Dhaka University, the incident of injuring 15 leaders and activists, including the president of the Gono Odhikar Parishad, Nurul Haque Nur, is a continuation of that fascist behavior. At present, the brutality and brutality of Awami cadres have reached extreme levels. The Fascist government has given the Chatra League a license to indulge in inhumane activities since coming to power. As a result, there is no heinous activity including murder, assault, rape, extortion, tender, arms, drugs etc. which they are not doing. They have turned every campus into a reign of terror. But the government has never prosecuted the criminals of its own student body, instead it has rewarded the murderers at various times. As a result, Chhatra League has taken a monstrous form today. At present, there is no characteristic of protesting student politics against injustice within the BCL. Chatra League is the image of terrorism to the countrymen.

I immediately call for the arrest and exemplary punishment of the BCL terrorists who attacked the activists including the President of the Gono Odhikar Parishad, Nurul Haque Nur, and wish for the speedy recovery of the injured leaders."
