The Acting Chairman of BNP, Mr. Tariq Rahman, sent the following message on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha:-
Message
“I extend my sincere greetings to Muslims around the world, including Bangladesh, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. Eid Mubarak!
Eid-ul-Adha returns to us each year with the glory of sacrifice. Eid-ul-Adha means ‘Festival of Sacrifice.’ Qurbani is a part of the Eid-ul-Adha festival, a means of purification and purity of the soul. Selflessly dedicating oneself to the welfare of humanity is a great lesson of Qurbani. Eid-ul-Adha, manifested in human values, encourages us to devote ourselves to establishing peace and harmony in society by avoiding violence, hatred, greed, and anger. If we reflect on the basic teaching of Qurbani in our lives and strive for human welfare, then surely we can get the satisfaction and closeness of Almighty Allah Rabbul Alamin. It is the duty of every Muslim to be devoted to that effort as a believer.
Eid-ul-Adha is the second of the two most prominent religious festivals of Muslims around the world. Festivals cross all divisions and inspire people with mutual goodwill; a close bond of brotherhood is created between people; a heavenly feeling of harmony arises in the people, suffocating all hatred, prejudice, and the poison of revenge.
Currently, panic and fear have taken a dominant form in our society. There is no security for human life, property, and unimpeded movement. In this prevailing situation, it will be difficult for everyone to enjoy the joy of Eid properly. On the one hand, the disenfranchised countrymen are living in suffocating conditions, while on the other hand, some opportunistic groups are busy enjoying the luxury of wealth. The government is using ruthless persecution, such as attacks, fabricated cases, enforced disappearances, and arrests against opposition forces. Meanwhile, low-income people are facing extreme suffering due to the rapidly rising prices of daily necessities such as rice, dal, salt, oil, sugar, onion, pepper, etc. Due to acute shortages of water, fuel, oil, gas, and electricity, there is unbearable misery in public life. We all need to ensure that no one goes hungry on the joyous day of Eid. Everyone should share the joy of this festival equally.
May this Eid-ul-Adha bring happiness, peace and prosperity to everyone's life! May harmony and friendship be created in society; that is my prayer to Allah Almighty.
Allah Hafez, Long live Bangladesh.”
