BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's condolence message

A terrible train accident took place last Friday night near Balasore area of the eastern state of Odisha in India. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep grief, sorrow and condolence over the loss of lives of around three hundred people and injuries to thousands of people in this train accident.

In a condolence message today, BNP Secretary General said, "The death of many people from India including Bangladeshis in the terrible train accident near Balasore area of Odisha state of India is very touching. I am at a loss for words to express my condolences to those who lost their lives in this tragic accident. My deepest condolences to the Government and people of India in this deep crisis. The people of Bangladesh and the leaders and workers of all levels of BNP express their solidarity with the bereaved people of India. The patience shown by all concerned in dealing with this sad situation is unprecedented. The dedication of the Indian government in the rescue work at the accident site is undoubtedly commendable.

I earnestly pray to God that the families of the victims may overcome their grief in facing this difficult time.

I pray for the peace of the souls of the deceased and speedy recovery of the injured."
