The main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its allies in the ongoing movement on Monday announced a fresh 48-hour countrywide blockade programme from Wednesday morning as the 4th round of the opposition-enforced blockade programme is set to end Tuesday morning.

The political parties and allies in the anti-government movement announced the fresh programme separately.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the fresh 48-hour blockade (Wednesday 6:00am to Friday 6:00am) at a virtual press conference.

He said that other parties and alliances of the ongoing simultaneous movement demanding the resignation of the Awami League government would also observe the blockade programme like past spalls.

The Ganatantra Mancha, at a rally in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka Monday afternoon, announced a fresh 48-hour blockade across Bangladesh from Wednesday, said a press release.

The parties and alliances, including the Jamaat-e-Islami, Liberal Democratic Party, Ganatantra Mancha, Gono Odhiker Parishad, and Amar Bangladesh Party, are observing the blockade programme.
