Protesting recent arrest, deaths of party leaders
The BNP and its like-minded parties have announced a 48-hour blockade program across the country from Sunday.
The blockade will be held on all modes of communication till Tuesday morning to press home their one-point demand of immediate resignation of the ruling government
Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement on Thursday afternoon.
The party will also hold a doa mahfil on Friday across the country. However, there were no programs announced for Saturday.
BNP held a nationwide blockade program from Tuesday that saw dozens of vehicles torched and sporadic clashes across the country.
The blockades are held in protest of the recent detention of the party's General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Alamgir, the assaults during the citywide rallies on October 28, and the tragic killings of several party activists
