BNP will hold a mass rally in Dhaka on September 9 to demand the resignation of the ruling Awami League government and a unilateral election under a non-partisan government.


Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of the party, announced this program in a press conference at Nayapaltan office of BNP on Wednesday.


Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, 'You know that our one-sided movement is ongoing. Resignation of the current fascist government that disenfranchises the people of Bangladesh and dissolution of the existing illegal government; Forming a neutral government during the election period and reorganizing the Election Commission under them for a free, fair, impartial and participatory election system; BNP chairperson national leader Begum Khaleda Zia including release of all royal prisoners; Withdrawal of false and absentee cases; Economic emancipation of the people through abolition of formal punishment and democratic reform of the constitution and state system; Active political alliances including BNP will hold a mass rally in Dhaka on September 9 to demand re-establishment of voting rights and democracy.


Two separate mass marches will be held in north and south of Dhaka city. All participants in the simultaneous movement including BNP will carry out this program.
