BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the country's people now know one point, one demand. It is Sheikh Hasina's resignation. The demand will be realised on the street.


"The next general election will certainly be held in Bangladesh, but no election will be held without a non-party neutral government in power," he said while speaking as the chief guest at Central High School ground in Bogura city on Monday afternoon.Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Swecchasebak Dal jointly organised the rally.


Addressing the government, the BNP Secretary General said, "Dissolve parliament and handover power to a non-party neutral caretaker government. The country will run under the supervision of new parliament which will be formed through a fresh election. The election will be held under a neutral caretaker government."


Mirza Fakhrul said, "The youth have participated in a great movement. Tariq Rahman has managed to ensure that. From Tetulia to the banks of the Padma in Rajshahi, the youth have gathered here…This country is yours [youth]. You will save it."


He observed that the democracy that has been lost must be brought back. Freedom and sovereignty are endangered today and must be protected.


Mirza Fakhrul said, "This government cannot give jobs to talented people for political reasons. They cannot offer any business opportunity. Four crore unemployed are not getting jobs. The government made empty promises of providing jobs. But it could not keep that promise."


Swecchasebak Dal president SM Jilani presided over the rally. It was addressed by Rajshahi Division BNP's organising secretary Advocate Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, Rangpur Division's organising secretary Asadul Habib Dulu, Bogura District BNP president Rezaul Karim Badsha, Jubo Dal president Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Jubo Dal acting general secretary Shafiqul Islam Milton, Swecchasebak Dal general secretary Rajib Ahsan, Chhatra Dal president Kazi Raunoqul Islam Srabon and general secretary Saif Mahmud Jewel. At that time, two chairs on the podium were kept empty showing honour to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia nd acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
