BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that the government has again started the 'election-election game' ahead of the next parliamentary elections. He said, 'People don't have the right to vote today. In 2014 we could not vote, in 2018 we could not vote; Now the election is coming again, the Awami League government has started the election-election game again with that election.'

He said these things in a speech before the protest march of the Bangladesh Jatyatabadi Sramik Dal in front of the BNP's central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Friday (June 9).

Mirza Fakhrul said, 'We need a free and fair election. A fair and free election should be organized under a neutral non-partisan government. Today, the entire nation is united in the demand of a neutral government.'

The BNP Secretary General warned that there will be no election in this country unless it is under a caretaker-non-partisan government, saying, 'For this, this government must resign, parliament must be dissolved and the power should be handed over to a neutral caretaker government and elections must be conducted by a new Election Commission. There is no other option.'

Mirza Fakhrul said, "This Awami League government, who has been in power for 14 years by force, has taken away all the rights of the common people in a very deliberate and conscious manner." Today, labor brothers, you are gathered here, you are being denied your fair wages…. Workers have no job resources. But those who are in the government of Awami League, those who are with them, are making illegal money, looting and smuggling money from this country.'

In front of the central office in Naya Paltan, this 'Labour-Workers Rally' and march was held against the increase in commodity prices and terrible load-shedding by the initiative of the Nationalist Workers' Party. Ignoring the adverse weather, the leaders and activists of the organization marched with banners and festoons on the road from Fakirapool to Kakrail Mor. From Naya Paltan, the procession ends at Moghbazar intersection.
