On 22 June 2025, Sunday morning, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) submitted a legal petition seeking action against the Chief Election Commissioners and Election Commissioners responsible for conducting the national elections of 2014, 2018, and 2024.

A BNP delegation submitted the petition—signed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir—to the current Chief Election Commissioner, M M Nasir Uddin.

The delegation, led by BNP National Executive Committee member Salah Uddin Khan, who also serves as the coordinator for legal cases and information preservation, first submitted a copy of the legal complaint to the Election Commission. Following that, they filed the case application at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
