On the 15th death anniversary of the esteemed former Finance Minister, eminent politician M. Saifur Rahman, I extend my deepest respects to his soul. M. Saifur Rahman’s achievements in Bangladesh’s politics are well-known. He always played a leading role in the struggle to safeguard the country’s independence and sovereignty and in establishing the democratic rights of the people. As a wise and accomplished Finance Minister, he made groundbreaking contributions to the country’s economic prosperity. Through his skilled management of the nation’s finances, Bangladesh gained significant international recognition. He was a pioneer in the development and progress of our nation. His independent spirit, candid speech, unwavering determination, and admirable personality earned him great respect from all. As a close colleague of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam, during the country’s crisis period, M. Saifur Rahman not only made the nation economically self-reliant as Finance Minister but also played a crucial role in organizing and strengthening the BNP in its commitment to protecting the nation’s independence and sovereignty. As a close associate of the Proclaimer of Independence, former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam, and embodying the nationalist philosophy, under the leadership of Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia, M. Saifur Rahman’s contributions in leading the nation towards democracy from the grip of tyranny will be remembered with reverence by the people and the party forever.
I pray for the forgiveness of his departed soul.
