Message from BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on the 48th Death Anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam
Message:
On the occasion of the 48th death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, I pay my deepest respects to his memory. Although Kazi Nazrul Islam is widely recognized in Bengali literature as the 'Rebel Poet,' he was also a poet, musician, novelist, storyteller, playwright, essayist, journalist, filmmaker, singer, and actor. He elevated Bengali music to a place of honor by creating countless diverse ragas and melodies. Through his literary works, he expressed the voice of humanity and protested against injustice. His poems and songs played a revolutionary role in the anti-British movement, inspiring the neglected and oppressed people. As a result, he became an eyesore to the British rulers and endured persecution. National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam remains an eternal symbol of rebellion against injustice. His writings inspire us with patriotism. In just 23 years of literary life, he enriched Bengali literature immensely. We must dedicate ourselves to fulfilling his dream of establishing peace, equality, and humanity in society.
I believe that Kazi Nazrul Islam will remain immortal for his creative works. I pray for the forgiveness of his soul.
Allah Hafez. Bangladesh Zindabad.
