BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is traveling to the United Kingdom for advanced medical treatment.
Upon her arrival in the UK, Begum Khaleda Zia will be accorded VIP protocol by the UK government.
Today, Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 8:00 PM, she will depart from her residence in Gulshan for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. She is expected to reach the airport by 9:00 PM and will leave for the UK at 10:00 PM aboard a Royal Qatar Amiri Air Ambulance.
After reaching the UK, she will be directly admitted to the London Clinic. Following her treatment there, she is expected to receive further medical care at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland, USA.
The air ambulance is scheduled to land at Heathrow Airport in the UK on January 8 at 10:00 AM Bangladesh time. BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and leaders of UK BNP will welcome Begum Khaleda Zia upon her arrival.
Previously, on July 15, 2017, Begum Khaleda Zia traveled to London for follow-up treatment for her eye and leg conditions.
Begum Khaleda Zia has been suffering from multiple health complications, including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, and kidney problems, for an extended period.
