BNP has road marched from Bhairab to Sylhet after two divisions in the northern region with a unilateral demand for the fall of the government.


After the inaugural rally at Bhairav bus stand on Thursday morning, the road march started and the convoy reached Sylhet by evening. On the way, the road march fleet fell under the rain in Sherpur of Moulvibazar. Disregarding the rain, the leaders of the district welcomed the road march fleet.


Three road meetings were held at Bishwa Road in Brahmanbaria, Shaistaganj in Habiganj and Sherpur in Moulvibazar. BNP Standing Committee members Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury led the road march. Apart from this, these two senior BNP leaders spoke at 5 spots including the opening rally in Bhairab and the closing rally in Sylhet.


At the end of the road march that started from Bhairab, Gayeshwar Roy said in the speech of the chief guest at the closing rally organized at the Alia Madrasa ground in Sylhet at 8 pm, we have been democratically marching, rallying and road marching till now. If the government does not accept the one-sided demands of these programs, more strict programs will be given step by step. Be prepared for strict programs including strikes, blockades.


Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said that the people of Bangladesh will not go to the elections under Sheikh Hasina. Elections should be held under a neutral caretaker government. Elections should be participatory, universally acceptable and of international standards. If elections are held under Sheikh Hasina, there will be no democracy.

Nasim Hossain, president of Nagar BNP, addressed the concluding rally at Aliya Madrasa ground in Sylhet. District BNP general secretary Emran Ahmed Chowdhury and city general secretary Imdad Hossain spoke in the rally and were present - BNP Chairperson's Advisor Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Sylhet City Mayor and Chairperson's Advisor Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Chairperson's Advisor Dr. Inamul Haque Chowdhury, Central Organizing Secretary of BNP Dr. Sakhawat Hasan Jiban, district BNP president Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury and senior leaders of BNP.


It was raining heavily in Sylhet since afternoon. Ignoring the rain, BNP leaders and activists took a position in the field.
